Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think, feel and behave.
It is most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression but it can be used to treat a range of other disorders such as trauma, PTSD and OCD.
How Cognitive Behavioural Therapy works
CBT is based on the belief that our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours are all interlinked and based in our past experiences, alongside the notion that our negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours can trap you into a negative downward vicious cycle.
CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming difficulties in a positive way by turning the problems into small workable positive goals that are achievable and realistic, alongside ongoing support from your Therapist.
